FOUNDED 2003 · SAINT-JÉRÔME, QUÉBEC · REMOTE-FIRST
Who you're actually dealing with.
Art Systems Canada is a Canadian IT company founded in 2003, owned outright by one shareholder. We don't keep a bench of salaried technicians. We assemble the exact expertise each mandate needs, supervise it, and run every hour of it through our own platform, our own ticket system and our own accountability. Here is precisely how that works — and why we think it serves you better than the alternative.

01 / THE MODEL
We don't keep a bench.
That's deliberate.
Most IT providers hire generalists, put them on salary, and then have to keep them busy. That creates a quiet pressure a client never sees: your problem gets matched to whoever happens to be free this month, rather than to whoever is genuinely best at it.

We work the other way. Art Systems Canada is one company with one shareholder. For each mandate we bring in qualified specialists we've worked with for years — chosen for that specific problem — and we supervise the work from inside it, not from a status report.

We don't hire juniors out of school and train them on client environments. You have almost certainly paid for somebody's education before. Not here.
HOW THE WORK ACTUALLY RUNS
â—† One contracting party. You sign with Art Systems Canada, you're invoiced by us, and you escalate to us.
â—† Specialists are selected per mandate, for that specific expertise.
â—† Every technician works inside our NinjaOne platform and our ticket system — never their own.
â—† Platform access is granted, supervised and revoked by us. Your credentials are never handed to anyone.
â—† Every partner signs a full NDA, reviewed and renewed on a two-year cycle. No exceptions.
â—† Ticket history and documentation stay with your environment, not with the technician.
Continuity lives in the platform, not in a person. Technicians rotate; your documentation, your ticket history, your monitoring and your access control don't. Most small providers can't say that — their continuity lives in whichever employee happens to know you, and walks out the door with them.

02 / THE FOUNDER
André Arsenault

Founder & IT Specialist
I started Art Systems Canada in 2003, writing software and restructuring network infrastructures. Twenty-two years later I'm still in the field — on the calls, inside the environments, reviewing the work before it reaches a client. I'm not an owner who stopped touching the technology and started managing people who do.

That's the whole reason this model works. Supervising specialists only means something if the supervisor can actually evaluate the work. I can read the code, I can audit the network, and I can tell you when something you've been sold isn't worth what you paid for it.

It also means you always know who is accountable. It's me.
03 / TWENTY-TWO YEARS
Three technology shifts.
Same owner throughout.
Companies founded in 2003 that are still trading didn't survive by standing still. Each era left us with something we still use every week.
2003 →
The software era
We began by writing software — business applications, databases, integrations. It's why reading someone else's code doesn't frighten us, and why "we'll have to check with the developer" isn't a sentence we say.
2010s →
The cloud era
Then came the migrations off aging on-premise servers. Microsoft 365, hosted infrastructure, and hybrid builds that respect the fact most SMBs can't move everything in one weekend.
2020s →
The AI era
Monitoring that flags an anomaly before a human would notice, and automation of the work that never needed a person — all of it on our own platform, which is also how specialist expertise reaches you in an hour instead of a hiring cycle.

04 / COMMITMENTS
What we won't do
Anyone can list what they promise. These are the things we've decided not to do, which is the more useful list.
Put a junior on your environment
We don't hire people fresh out of school and let them learn on a client's network. Every specialist we bring in is already good at the thing we brought them in for.
Claim your data is all in Canada
For backup and recovery we select Canadian data centres. For some platforms it's more complicated than that, and we'd rather explain it than round it off.
Hand your credentials to a stranger
Access is granted through our platform, supervised while it's open, and revoked when the work is done. Everyone who gets it has signed an NDA first.
Bill emergency work as a surprise
Out-of-hours emergency response is available around the clock and it costs more. You'll know the rate before we start, not when the invoice lands.
Sell you a plan before we've looked
An assessment comes first. If what you have is fine, we'll tell you it's fine — that answer has cost us work and we'd give it again.

Replace what we haven't tried to fix
Recommending a rebuild is the profitable answer. It's often not the right one, and we can usually tell the difference because we built systems like yours.
05 / SUPERVISION
Supervision isn't a service we added.
It's how we work.
Every mandate we run is supervised work: specialists doing the delivery, us reading it, testing it, and standing behind it. That's not a quality process bolted onto the business — it is the business.

WATCH DOG is that same discipline pointed at somebody else's vendor. A client awards a project to another provider and brings us in to read the statement of work, sit on the technical calls, review the deliverables, and say in plain language whether they're getting what they're paying for.

On a watched project we are simply not the vendor delivering it. That's the only independence claim we make, and it applies per engagement rather than as a posture.
WHAT OVERSIGHT LOOKS LIKE
â—† Statement of work reviewed before signature
â—† Technical calls attended and minuted in plain language
â—† Deliverables tested against what was actually promised
â—† A written position at every milestone
â—† A straight answer when the answer is uncomfortable

06 / STRAIGHT ANSWERS
The questions we'd rather you asked early
Which laws we work under
Québec's Law 25 and the federal PIPEDA. We build and document with both in mind, and we can show you where any given control comes from.

Where your data actually sits
For backup and recovery we select Canadian data centres. For some third-party platforms — Microsoft 365 among them — live data may reside in the United States or Europe depending on your tenant. We'll tell you which is which for your environment rather than making a blanket claim.
Who touches your environment
Only people who have signed a full NDA with us, reviewed and renewed on a two-year cycle. Access runs through our platform, is supervised while open, and is revoked when the mandate ends. We can tell you who connected to your systems and when.
How we use AI
We publish an AI use policy covering what we run AI against and what we don't. It's on this site, not buried in a contract annex nobody reads.

08 / FAQ
The things people ask before they sign
How many people are there, really?
One shareholder, and a network of vetted specialists engaged per mandate. We'd rather say that plainly than let you assume a payroll that doesn't exist. What you get isn't a headcount — it's the specific expertise your problem needs, supervised by someone who can evaluate it, working inside our platform under our accountability.
Isn't that risky for a managed contract?
The usual risk with a small provider is that everything lives in one technician's head, and walks out when they resign. Our continuity is in the platform: your documentation, monitoring, ticket history and access control belong to the environment, not to whoever worked on it last. Technicians can change without you noticing. That's the point.
Who are the specialists, and are they vetted?
People we've worked with over years, chosen for the specific expertise a mandate calls for. Every one of them signs a full NDA before touching anything, reviewed and renewed on a two-year cycle. Access is granted through our platform, supervised while it's open, and revoked when the work ends.
How fast do you respond in an emergency?
One hour for remote emergency response, twenty-four hours a day, anywhere we can reach your systems. Out-of-hours emergency work is billed at emergency rates and you'll know the rate before we begin.
Do you write software yourself, or subcontract it?
Both, depending on the job. Some of it by hand — software is where the company started in 2003 and it's still work we do. The rest goes to developers we've worked with for years, specified and reviewed by us before it reaches you. It's also why we can assess an application you already own instead of reflexively recommending you replace it.
We're outside Québec. Does that matter?
Not for the work. We're remote-first — monitoring, helpdesk, security, migrations and development all happen the same way whether you're in Laval or Lethbridge. Where a job genuinely needs hands on hardware, we arrange onsite attendance and quote it before we start.
